World Bee Day 2025 was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the National Institute of Plant Health Management (NIPHM), Hyderabad, in collaboration with the Telangana Bee Hub Society (TBHS). The MITHRA Foundation, which has been actively promoting the Telangana Bee Hub Society, played a vital role in mobilizing stakeholders and creating awareness on the importance of apiculture.

The event underscored the vital role of bees and pollinators in ensuring agricultural sustainability, biodiversity conservation, and global food security. Eminent scientists, policymakers, and apiculture experts emphasized the need for scientific beekeeping practices, promotion of honey and hive products, and livelihood creation for farmers, women, and rural youth.

Key Highlights of the Celebration:

Awareness Sessions on the importance of bees in pollination and crop productivity.
Live Demonstrations on modern beekeeping practices, honey harvesting, and scientific hive management.
Exhibition Stalls displaying a wide range of bee products, including honey, beeswax, propolis, royal jelly, and innovative value-added products.
Policy Discussions on scaling up beekeeping under the National Beekeeping & Honey Mission (NBHM) with institutional and CSR support.
Recognition & Awards presented to progressive beekeepers, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), and NGOs for their outstanding contributions to apiculture development in Telangana.

Speaking on the occasion, dignitaries reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen Telangana’s position as a national hub for beekeeping and honey production, with a vision of enhancing farmers’ income, export potential, and ecological balance.
