Hyderabad, July 15, 2025:
MITHRA Foundation, under the leadership of its Founder & President Sri Nimmala Rama Chandraiah, in collaboration with the Telangana Bee Hub Society (TBHS), National Bee Board (NBB), and Telangana State Horticulture Department, organized a Scientific Beekeeping Training Program at Charlapalli Jail Premises, Hyderabad.

The unique initiative brought together prisoners from various districts of Telangana along with Jail Department Superintendents from all districts, with the aim of imparting scientific beekeeping skills, honey production techniques, and sustainable livelihood opportunities.

Highlights of the Program:

  • Training on bee biology, hive management, and queen bee care.

  • Demonstrations on honey harvesting, processing, and value-added products.

  • Awareness sessions on marketing, government schemes, banking loans, and CSR opportunities facilitated by MITHRA Foundation.

  • Focus on creating self-employment opportunities for prisoners, enabling their successful reintegration into society.

Speaking on the occasion, Sri Nimmala Rama Chandraiah emphasized that scientific beekeeping not only improves income and employment prospects but also contributes to ecological balance and agricultural productivity.

This initiative marks a first-of-its-kind collaboration aimed at transforming Telangana’s prison community into skilled beekeepers and future entrepreneurs.
